2012 Preakness: Entries, Post Positions and Morning Line Odds
Baltimore, Maryland – The Preakness Stakes field is set for Saturday’s Grade 1 Preakness at Pimlico (post time 6:18pm ET on NBC). Kentucky Derby winner I’ll Have Another drew post 9 and second favorite at morning line odds of 5/2. Bodemeister is the morning line favorite at 8/5 for the Preakness Stakes despite being runner up to I’ll Have Another in the Kentucky Derby. Bodemeister drew post position #7.
Two other horses from the Kentucky Derby are Went the Day Well and Creative Cause who are both third choice favorites according to the morning line odds at 6/1.
The Preakness Stakes has six horses from the Kentucky Derby field making the start in the second leg of the Triple Crown. Optimizer, Daddy Nose Best, Creative Cause, Went the Day Well, I’ll Have Another and the favorite Bodemeister are making the return appearance. Making their first start in the Triple Crown are Cozzetti, Zetterholm, Tiger Walk, Teeth of the Dog and Pretension.
