Kentucky Derby Horses
Louisville, KY – Meet the Kentucky Derby Horses for the 138th running of the Kentucky Derby. Barring any training injuries or illness, here are the probable horses to enter the starting gate at Churchill Downs on May 5th under the Twin Spires for Kentucky Derby Betting.
For the first time in Kentucky Derby history which dates back to the first running of the Kentucky Derby back in 1875, the Derby is guaranteed to have a full 20 horse field. 2012 marks the first time the new “AE rule” or Also Eligible will be in place when you bet on the Kentucky Derby. An example of this was last year when Uncle Mo was scratched leading up to the race, if the new Also Eligible rule was applied, Sway Away would have taken Uncle Mo’s place in the starting gate.
Here is the current list of starters for the 2012 Kentucky Derby.
