DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) – Dullahan overcame 6-5 favorite Game On Dude in the stretch to win the $1 million Pacific Classic at Del Mar by a half-length Sunday, becoming the fourth 3-year-old to win the race.

Ridden by Joel Rosario, Dullahan ran 1 1/4 miles on the synthetic Polytrack in a track-record 1:59.54 and paid $12.60, $5.20 and $3.40.

Game On Dude returned $3.20 and $2.40 for trainer Bob Baffert, while two-time winner Richard’s Kid was another 2 3/4 lengths back in third and paid $3 to show.

Dullahan’s only other Grade 1 wins were in the Blue Grass and Breeders’ Futurity, both on Polytrack. Trained by Dale Romans, the colt finished third in the Kentucky Derby and seventh in the Belmont.
