In this recent 2010 photo provided by Margo Sutter, a groom tends to Buck, a rescued horse, during one of his daily pedicures at his trainer's barn at the Arlington Park racetrack in Arlington Heights, Ill. In 2007, Buck was saved when the operator of a southwestern Illinois horse-rescue operation bought him with two other horses from a truck that was about to take them to Mexico for slaughter.
